Lip blush versus lipstick: what actually lasts in Orange County weather

Lipstick is a choice you make in the morning. Lip blush is a sheer layer of pigment in the lip so the color and edge look even after you eat, swim, or forget the tube in the car. They are not competitors. Blush is the base. Lipstick is still allowed.

What lip blush is good at

Pale lips that disappear in photos. An uneven lip line. Color that has to be redrawn before every meeting. A healed blush looks like a tinted balm, not opaque stage makeup. If a reference photo is a full glam saturated red, say that out loud. The technique for that look is different, and not everyone wants to live in it.

Healing, briefly
